We are looking forward to being with you all for our upcoming 2019 Winter Clusters! For each cluster we are planning a focused time of worship, prayer and sharing, and we will do more thinking and planning for a Fall Summit Gathering in each region for you and your lay leaders. Registration is now open.
We currently have 60 vetted, trained, and prepared international workers ready to go out into the field next year. This is a record number for us. Twice as many as the C&MA has had in previous years. Praise the Lord! Historically, the number of workers has been on a decline, and led us to pray for God to provide the people. He answered. And He came through abundantly. Now the challenge. We need the funds to send these workers. The Alliance is currently behind budget in our Great Commission Fund. To be exact, we are $1.2 million behind this fiscal year. Now our prayer is for the Lord to provide the financial resources so that every one of those 60 workers can be sent.
The 2018 Impact Report from the Christian & Missionary Alliance is now available for churches and congregations to review. The report highlights the impact C&MA missions and outreach programs are having both here in the United States and globally around the world.
Besides enjoying a fabulous meal, the group shared plenty of conversation and a rousing game of charades. “The students really enjoyed it! Charades resulted in lots of laughter together.”One of the students thanked Hannah after the dinner. He told her, “Thank you very much for such a great gesture. It was an overwhelming experience of having a family like warmth while being thousands of miles away from our family.”
Unlike the heavy rains and overcast skies of last year’s Golf Classic, our 20 teams of 78 golfers enjoyed absolutely gorgeous and incredible weather on Monday, May 21 for the 2018 celebration and fundraiser for Alliance New England churches. Joe and John Peck once again hosted the event at the beautiful Country Club of Halifax in Halifax, MA. “This is our 21st year at Halifax for the ANE Golf Classic. Journey Church in Conway, NH opened their doors and held the first Sunday services in a new facility that took its own lengthy journey to completion.
The landscape for mission has changed and is becoming focused on our own backyards. As such, excitement is growing about Envision Providence and the new site being planned and built here in our New England District. Robert and Amy Childs have taken the reins as the Site Coordinators to lead the Envision Providence location and are already hard at work developing the vision, administration, and overseeing the operations of the site, including the build-out and construction of the permanent facility. What is Envision? Simply put, Envision takes long-term workers invested in their urban communities, like the Childs, and pairs them with small groups and missional leaders for internships, short-term trips, and leadership development. Together they innovate, develop, strengthen and impact the faith communities in [...]
Even on the heels of a May nor’easter that brought bucket-loads of rain to the area the day before, our golfers enjoyed 18-holes, a fantastic dinner, and lots of fellowship at the beautiful Country Club of Halifax in Halifax, MA on Monday, May 15th during our 20th Annual Alliance Golf Classic.
“Providence is incredibly diverse. It's one of the best places to 'reach the nations'." Scott and his wife, Amber, joined IAC three months ago in the lead pastor role.
As we are all updating our calendars and preparing for the busy spring, summer and fall seasons, take a few moments to make note of the following Alliance New England events that are headed our way.
